Information we collect

Information you provide

• Vendor accounts: truck name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and business profile details you add — description, food category, menu items, prices, photos, operating hours, schedule, and service area.
• Booking inquiries: if you submit a catering or event inquiry, we collect your name, email, phone number, and event details, and share them with the vendor you contacted.
• Reviews and follows: reviews, ratings, and trucks you follow.

Information collected automatically

• Location: with your permission, we use your device’s location to show food trucks near you (customers) or to publish your truck’s live location on the public map (vendors). Location is used only while you are using the app. Vendors’ live locations are public by design — that is the purpose of the service. We do not collect location in the background.
• Usage data: pages viewed, features used, profile views, follows, and direction taps, along with device type, browser, and IP address. Vendors see aggregated versions of this in their analytics.

How we use information

• Provide the service: show live trucks, menus, specials, and schedules
• Operate vendor tools: dashboards, analytics, follower notifications, booking inquiries
• Communicate with you about your account or inquiries
• Maintain security, prevent fraud, and comply with law

What we share

• Vendor business information (truck name, menu, hours, live location, schedule) is public — that is the point of the platform.
• Booking inquiry details are shared with the vendor you chose to contact.
• Service providers that host our infrastructure (including Supabase for our database and authentication) process data on our behalf.
• Payments: our order process is conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com. When you purchase a paid vendor subscription or add-on, we share your name, email address, billing address, country, and purchase details with Paddle so they can take payment, calculate tax, issue receipts and invoices, and handle refunds and billing support. Paddle acts as an independent data controller for that billing data and processes card details directly — TruckSpot never receives or stores your full card number. • We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety and rights of users.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, menus, schedules, and specials. Some records (such as transaction or inquiry records) may be retained as required by law.

Your choices and rights

• Location: you can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings; the app will still work with reduced functionality (you can search by city instead).
• Account deletion: vendors can delete their account in dashboard settings, or request deletion at truckspotfinder.com/delete-account.
• Access and correction: contact us to access or correct your information.
• Florida residents and residents of states with consumer privacy laws may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal data; contact us to exercise them.

Children

TruckSpot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and encrypted password storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with an updated date, and for material changes we will notify vendors by email.
